Why subscribe to Hermit Rites?

Hermit Rites is a place for me (Dustin) to share my book and music reviews, short fiction, interviews, and other writings. I mostly listen to and write about metal and metal adjacent genres, and mostly read/write/write about horror and sci-fi.

I am a big fan of the drabble form of writing, which is using only and exactly one hundred words, and so I wrote my own bio as a drabble:

Dustin Ekman is a writer from Edmonton. This is not exactly his fault, but he did choose to move there from a small town that was even worse than Edmonton.

Dustin is a former record label owner, music critic, and metal promoter (founder of Funeral Rain Records, Crown of Viserys, and Black Mourning Light Metal Festival), as well as a fan of horror, science fiction, and fantasy. Before the CoV website was brought down by a hacker, he had published several hundred music reviews.

He lives alone with his cat, an addiction to caffeine, and an increasingly shaky mental stability.
